  10. questions you may have concerning the game or your computer. If

  20. I. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  21. Windows(r) 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000 or Windows NT 4.0
  22. Pentium PII 300 or higher processor, 64 MB RAM
  23. SVGA, high color (16-bit)
  24. 3D Acellerated Video Card with at least 8 MB RAM (16 Recommended)
  25. 2x CD-ROM drive
  26. Windows-compatible sound card
  27. Mouse, keyboard

  30. II. GENERAL TECHNICAL ISSUES

  32. VIDEO DRIVER ISSUES

  34. Make sure the most current version of DirectX is installed on your computer. 
  35. DirectX 7 is included on the Catechumen demo CD in the 'DirectX' folder. 
  36.  
  37. Make sure you have installed the most recent drivers for all your hardware 
  38. before playing Catechumen. (see link on autorun menu to www.driverzone.com 
  39. to download the most current drivers for your hardware.) 
  40.  
  41. Due to the high level of graphics quality throughout Catechumen, some video 
  42. cards may experience problems running in high resolution mode. We suggest that 
  43. you lower the resolution of the card until the problems are resolved.
  44.  
  45. At this time Catechumen does not support Open GL.
  46.  
  47. GLIDE DRIVER
  48.  
  49. Restoring Catechumen from a minimized or Alt-Tabbed state while running the
  50. Glide driver can result in a game lock-up.

  52. III. GENERAL GAME ISSUES

  54. VIDEO PROBLEMS
  55. Video configuration is set in the Media/Video Options/Video Driver menu commands.
  56.  
  57. The following section explains the known driver and compatibility issues for 
  58. specific chipsets at the time of the Catechumen demo release.  If you have any 
  59. questions about which chipset is incorporated in your graphics card, check the 
  60. documentation that came with your card, or contact the card manufacturer.

  62. 3DFX Banshee, Voodoo 1, Voodoo 2, Voodoo 2 SLI
  63.  
  64. Get the latest drivers from your card manufacturer or get the latest drivers directly 
  65. from the 3DFX site. Make sure that you have the latest Glide version.

  67. NVIDIA Riva 128 /NVIDIA TNT
  68.  
  69. There have been some reported issues regarding this card concerning flashing textures 
  70. and objects withing Catechumen at high resolution mode. To resolve this issue simply 
  71. adjust your card settings to a lower resolution within the Catechumen menu.
  72. Catechumen supports the TNT in software, and Direct3D modes. Make sure to get the latest 
  73. driver off of NVIDIA's site.

  77. Some Transparent faces become invisible during gameplay.

  79. COMMON QUESTIONS
  80. What can I do if the game is too dark?.
  81. Some monitors are darker than others, but Catechumen has controls to correct this problem. 
  82. You will need to adjust the brightness setting in the Media/Video/Brightness options menu 
  83. in Catechumen.

  85. What can I do if the game looks washed out?
  86. The most likely cause is that your monitor is slightly brighter than average and the default 
  87. game settings are for a darker monitor. Change the brightness settings as listed above.
